Beware of Energy Drinks

I was listening to a local radio show the other day talking about new energy drinks that are mixed with alcohol. In fact this person bought one in the morning on the way to work, not realizing that it was about 9% alcohol by volume (That's more than most beers) and felt the effects about 15 minutes after drinking this drink and it did affect his driving. In fact he even said he pulled over and let his wife drive. It seems that the labels of these drinks don't really emphasize the fact they do contain alcohol and they appear to be like most energy drinks. In this day and age of new energy products coming out and the need for some people to have energy drinks mixed with alcohol (which the producers of these products are happy to oblige), you need to be careful when buying these products, especially if you are driving. So the next time you walk into your local mini-mart looking for an energy drink, make sure you know what is in it. After all even if consuming alcohol was in error and if you are driving, it is still DUI. Stay safe
