Every April, the Department of Labor & Industries hosts a memorial ceremony to honor workers who died on the job or as a result of their work during the previous year. The Washington State Worker Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, April 28 in the L&I Building auditorium in Tumwater.
The program will consist of brief remarks and a reading of the deceased workers' names. Joining L&I Director Judy Shurke will be Governor Gregoire, representatives of the Washington State Labor Council, the Association of Washington Business, and the Washington Self-Insurers Association.
